“World Environment Day (WED)’2017”


World Environment Day’ 2017 was celebrated in a befitting manner by Arunachal ENVIS Centre. On the occasion Chief Minister was made as Chief Guest and Deputy Chief Minister as Guest of Honour with in presence of Parliamentary Secretary ( Environment & Forests) and Parliamentary Secretary ( Agriculture) and Chief Secretary.
On the occasion, Chief Minister released book, 2nd Edition of ‘Orchids of Arunachal Pradesh published by State Forest Research Institute, 2nd Edition of Arunachal ENVIS Newsletter (Jan – June’2017) & a pocket book of Laws for Forest Officers.’ Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Parl Secretary ( E & F) and Chief Secretary gave away Certificates & Prizes among the winner of students’ Essay Competition and Drawing and Painting Competition in the junior and senior categories Organized by Department of Environment & Forests with support rendered by Arunachal ENVIS Centre.

Shri. D Dohu Robin Deputy Director (Environment) & ENVIS Coordinator was the Master of Ceremony for the world Environment Day’2017.The entire team of Arunachal ENVIS gave their active participation in for the success of the function.
The Essay writing Competition, Drawing and Painting Competitions for among various Schools in Itanagar/ Capital Complex was conducted by Director (Environment)/Dy. Director (Environment) alongwith with Officials of ENVIS Centre and Climate Change Cell, Itanagar with huge participation.

Shri Omkar Singh, the PCCF & Prl. Secy (E&F) while welcoming the Chief Minister, Dy. Chief Minister & other dignitaries highlighted the meaning & importance of this year’s them “Connecting People to Nature” of World Environment Day, 2017.
